Win A Free Night With Marriott’s Nights of Summer Sweepstakes

Subscribing to the tenets of frugal travel is an easy proposition. Through spending smarter, saving where necessary and collecting valuable points and miles along the way, travelers can see the world for an overall low price. However, making time to see the world is a completely different mindset. No matter our best plans, life often throws curves in our way, from an unexpected bill to changing life events. If only there were way to force one’s self to take a break.

The Details

Luckily, 1,000 winners will have that opportunity to do so thanks to Marriott and Chase. The official credit card provider for Marriott recently launched the 1,000 Nights of Summer promotion, where 1,000 frugal travelers will receive their choice of a free night at over 4,000 Marriott Hotels across 90 countries.

The choices are not just limited to mid-tier value hotels: winners can choose any hotel in Marriott Hotels reward categories 1-9, which includes the Grosvenor House, a JW Marriott Hotel in London and the Frenchman’s Reef & Morning Star Marriott Beach Resort in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The Perks for Marriott Rewards Premier Credit Cardholders

The promotion gets better for those who hold the Marriott Rewards Premier Credit Card from Chase. Those who utilize this card as part of their points-earning arsenal will receive an additional entry for every transaction credited to their card between now and June 30, 2017! To begin entering into the contest, would-be travelers must first register on the 1,000 Nights of Summer website before packing their bags.

New to Points and Miles?

In my opinion, the Marriott Rewards Premier Credit Card is one of the best for those who are looking to save money on future hotel stays. Although the new cardmember bonus has dropped to 80,000 Marriott Rewards points after spending $3,000 in the first three months, this card still offers plenty of value.

For example, those 80,000 points could be applied to four nights at a Category 5 hotel using PointSavers Rewards, or two nights at a Category 9 hotel on PointSavers rewards. In addition, the card also offers one free night at any Category 1-5 Marriott hotel in the form of an e-certificate, immediately giving back the value of the annual fee every anniversary.

With the merge with Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Marriott Rewards points offer even more value. Cardholders can transfer points between Starwood Preferred Guest Starpoints at a ratio of 3:1, which convert to nearly equal value at the end of the day.

As a result, travelers have their choice of thousands of hotels available to them between the two chains, all accessible with quick transfers between both programs. Chase Ultimate Rewards points can also be transferred to Marriott Rewards, giving those who hold the Chase Sapphire Preferred even more value in Marriott’s reward system.

As with every promotion, there are terms and conditions to the contest. Entry is free and no purchase is necessary to win. Odds of winning one of the 1,000 free nights are determined by the total number of entries received. Finally, winners will have their e-certificates delivered within 8 weeks – so don’t plan to use that free room immediately after winning.

With the 1,000 Nights of Summer promotion, Marriott and Chase add a little more value to card membership. Even though winning isn’t guaranteed, there’s no pain in entering and hopefully getting one step closer to a free hotel night!
