SPG and Emirates launched Your World Rewards partnership back in 2014 (read more here) where SPG and Emirates elite members get reciprocal benefits and earn bonus Starpoints and Skywards miles (SPG has similar partnership with Delta and China Eastern).
Now, a LoyaltyLobby reader forwarded me an email that SPG had sent out today offering 500 free Starpoints for signing up and linking SPG and Emirates accounts.

Conclusion
Interesting to see how these partnership will survive the SPG integration to Marriott Rewards that will happen sometime in late 2018. So, perhaps you should check your email to see if you received this same offer from SPG. Should be easy 500 Starpoints for those that did.
