Marriott Rewards on Monday sent invitations on Facebook Messenger to participate to some “exciting” announcement and information was leaked on the same day about new combined Marriott/SPG tiers (read more here) and then yesterday on Chinese forums/Weibo copy of Marriott/SPG leaflet was posted (read more here).
Now, Marriott Rewards and SPG have made an announcement on their respective Facebook pages inviting members to join them for a live broadcast on Monday April 16, 2018, at 430PM ET.

Conclusion
Seems that Marriott/SPG completely lost the communication on this program merger when the information started to slowly come out starting with the CEO interview that was posted last week (read more here) and all the information that has so far come out this week (and it is only Wednesday!).
Now, they will officially announce what we should pretty much already know on Monday at 430PM EDT.
