Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you’re using The Platinum Card® from American Express, you’ll need to book directly with the airline or through the Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia’s courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to get the time away from work or family.
The deals on low-cost carriers keep coming. After an earlier deal for round-trip nonstop flights to Paris for $200 on Primeria Air and Norwegian’s European flight sale in full effect, we’re now seeing great prices to the French Caribbean.
You can fly from New York (JFK) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL) to Fort-de-France (FDF) on the island of Martinique or to Point-à-Pitre (PTP) on Guadeloupe for as little as $168 round-trip nonstop. Flights are operated by Norwegian, which includes a free carry-on bag, but you’ll have to pay extra for checked luggage or seat-assignment. Low fares are available in the winter months making this a great opportunity to escape the cold.
Last year I flew aboard Norwegian’s 737-800 from JFK to Fort-de-France and throughly enjoyed the experience and destination. Although Norwegian may be somewhat bare bones, you’ll enjoy good service, a nonstop itinerary and ridiculously low fares.
If you’re looking for a hotel on the island, Le Cap Est Resort Lagoon and Spa is a great choice that’s located right on the beach.
There are no tricks to find these fares. Use Google Flights to search for your preferred departure and destination and then book directly with the airline.
