A few years ago, World of Hyatt modified the way that cash and points awards are calculated, and they have moved to a calculation that takes a fixed point amount plus 50% off the standard rate for these stays.
What became apparent is that, more often than not, these C&P rates make absolutely no sense to book as there are rates such as the basic “member rate” that come very close to the cash portion even without using any points.
