Getting Denied for a Chase Credit Card You Really Want, Like the Southwest Rapid Rewards® Priority Credit Card, Can Be Heartbreaking! The Dreaded Pending Message I Received After Applying for a Chase Credit Card Immediately after applying, I received the message that “We need to review your request a little longer.”  I was NOT immediately approved.  I have good credit, I’m within Chase’s 5/24 rule, and I’m a long-time Chase customer.  So I wasn’t worried about getting denied.  But no one likes to see “Thank you for your request” message pop up. This Is The Dreaded Pending Message I Received After Applying for a Chase Credit Card Here’s How I Got Approved for This Chase Credit Card I decided to wait a couple of days and then call Chase to get an update, and possibly offer to shift my credit limits.  For example, I have the Chase Sapphire Reserve® with a $50,000 credit limit.  I can request that Chase move ~$5,000 of the available credit to the Southwest Rapid Rewards® Priority Credit Card so that I can be approved for the credit card.  In my experience, this has worked well for me before to help get me approved for more of the best travel credit cards! A few days later, I logged into my Chase account, and saw my new Southwest Rapid Rewards® Priority Credit Card listed at the bottom of my accounts. I Knew I Got Approved for the Southwest Rapid Rewards® Priority Credit Card When I Logged On and Saw It in My Account! A few days later, I received a letter in the mail that they had moved some of my credit lines so that I could get approved for the Southwest Rapid Rewards® Priority Credit Card.  Done!  I love how Chase read my mind, because this was exactly what I would have asked them to do, and this saved me a phone call!
