American Airlines is having a promotion through September 30, 2012 where one receives up to 25% bonus miles when sharing miles. When you share miles with someone, you can choose to receive the bonus miles yourself or allow the recipient to receive them. Of course, when transferring miles to someone else’s account, the transfer is not free.
