Things I Learned on My Trip to Cuba – Havana Trip Summary About two weeks ago, I flew down to Havana, Cuba for a few days to run the 2016 Havana Marathon. We spent 5 days (4 nights) there through Marathon Tours and they set up a pretty good schedule for us. Here are some of the notable sights we saw: Old Havana – a lot of historic houses and buildings. Cuban government has been trying to renovate the area but it is a slow process   Tabacuba – One of Cuba’s Cigar Rolling Factories Earnest Hemingway’s Estate – Its far from the main city so recommend hiring a car for the day to take you there La Bodeguita – A famous bar for its mojito. The only difference is that they use the Havana Club 3 year in their..

Paris Marathon 2015 – AA Chicago First Class Lounge and Flight to Paris

Written by Simon – Running For Status @ First2Board

Paris Marathon 2015 – AA Chicago First Class Lounge and Flight to Paris Since I was American Airlines Executive Platinum and flying internationally, I am able to use the Flagship First Class Lounge in Chicago. Note that it is not an Admirals Club. It is available for First Class passengers or American Airlines Executive Platinum passengers flying internationally on Oneworld. It is located at the end of the K terminal near Gate K19. It is a small lounge, but due to its free food selection, it is the better lounge at Chicago for American Airlines passengers. It is mainly geared for Japanese customers since it is located next to the gate for the flights to Tokyo. [2015-Paris-Marathon] The lounge is smaller than the rest of the lounges since it is geared for First Class passengers, but it can get crowded from the flight..

Sometime in October before the race in April 2015, I saw a deal on The Flight Deal to Paris, but it originates out of Newark. I tried to price it out of Boston but it was substantially higher so I bought the ticket out of Newark. I was going to be there for a week anyway and I would need to take..

Written by Simon – Running For Status @ First2Board

Rock and Roll Las Vegas Marathon 2014 Review I am definitely a bit late in posting a review about this race. As with most of my travel, it started when I found a deal on The Flight Deal from Boston to Las Vegas. I quickly looked up the dates for the RnR Las Vegas Marathon and quickly found dates that would work for the marathon. Since it was a Sunday Night flight, my friend and I booked a flight leaving Saturday and the redeye Monday night to get back to work on Tuesday. My friend couldn’t find the exact same routing from BOS-LAX but we were on the same flight LAX-LAS. I got the upgrade so we didn’t actually fly together. I got an Avis rental car and drove to the expo for the packet pickup. There was a parking..
